Pauline Leblond Trio

The trio is a formation typical of the jazz tradition, we know it mainly with piano for example. But Pauline wanted to surround herself with a rhythm section without harmonic instruments, so that everyone could enjoy greater freedom. This trio therefore offers you a freshness by readapting standards as well as personal compositions, since the absence of a harmonic instrument brings space; a breathing necessary to listen to the different atmospheres offered by the three musicians. Between them, we hear a permanent dialogue favoring sometimes the rhythmic aspect of each of the instruments, sometimes the timbres, sometimes the harmonic and melodic colors. Pauline Leblond wanted to surround herself with two essential musicians of the Belgian jazz scene: The double bass of Sam Gerstmans and the drums of Matthias de Waele complement each other, together they form the basis of this trio and bring a decided swing, to leave room soloist on the trumpet of Pauline Leblond, noted for her sound and her sense of melody. Of course, in a small formation such as this, everyone has their place to take the time to express themselves, to reveal themselves, to develop... an element that Pauline considered important, and it is together that they shape and offer this energy that will carry you away in the most captivating music.

In case of bad weather, the concert will be given at the Cultural Center of Uccle.
