Commander Spoon from Brussels bring a wide range of influences to their energetic jazz, from hip-hop, R&B and electronica to African and Brazilian music. The quartet consists of saxophonist Pierre Spataro - who is also the creator of the cosmic melodies -, guitarist Florent Jeunieaux, bassist Fil Caporali and drummer Samy Wallens.
They have released several EPs together and an LP called "Spooning" in which they interweave their eclectic wealth of influences into an energetic sound, respectfully tearing down the walls between genres. You may also have seen them separately on stage or in the studio with various artists such as Romeo Elvis, Reinel Bakole or Echt!
Commander Spoon has a habit of drawing jazz that has nothing to do with the rules, of coloring outside the lines in blistering movements.
