Sometimes it takes a few detours to find out where you belong. You may visit destinations like Havana. Or Mogadishu. Or Ghent. That's exactly what happened to Compro Oro since its 2015 debut. The first releases took you for a ride to Cuba and West-Africa. On their most recent album, ‘Suburban Exotica', the band takes things even further by adding grooves from the Middle-East. This results in an eccentric patchwork of sounds and influences, merging contemporary electronics with an irrepressible drive, greasy funk and other striking acrobatics.
