Every now and then, Danish singer-songwriter Agnes Obel disappears from the face of the earth, only to reappear a few years later with an intimate record that makes the globe go collectively silent. Myopia, her first album on the renowned Deutsche Grammophon label, is hardly an exception to the rule. Pitchfork described the album as "a collection of haunting chamber pop experiments that form a misty landscape where piano and voice merge in a mystical way". In short: Obel remains the queen of melancholy in 2022. But is there anyone who objects to that?
