Cinema Paradiso unites saxophone player Kurt Van Herck, drummer and percussionist Eric Thielemans and guitar player Willem Heylen. This is a trio that plays music that exudes calmth, musical freedom and playfulness. The musicians worked with the music of Paul Motian, as well as original material, timeless standards and improvisations elaborating on the master drummer's music. Bill Frisell, a former partner and friend of Motian, heard the music and was impressed: "It was a joy to hear these new versions of the songs I know so well and love so much. I know Paul would be happy."
