Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel - Régence
- Address : Regentschapsstraat 30, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgique
The Royal Conservatory of Brussels, School of Arts in music, achieves, builds and permanently radiates artistic excellence from its three pillars of music art, education and research, both internally and externally, nationally and internationally. Its Music programmes (composition, conducting, writing and instrument, classical, jazz, historical), Musical and Educational programmes are embedded in the Erasmus University College Brussels, further in the cultural landscape of the multicultural capital Brussels, of Flanders, of Belgium and Europe.
The KCB offers an artistic breeding ground to current and next generations of musicians. With its high-quality artistic education, it develops artistic personality, knowledge and practice, reflection and expertise. The musicians it trains contribute to contemporary society as responsible, creative and enterprising citizens. The KCB relies on and supports the artistic and pedagogical excellence and expertise of its teachers, who are themselves active and creative members of society.
The KCB is a conservatory and a laboratory of music. It carries, preserves, researches and passes on its rich musical tradition from the past through the present to the future. In a stimulating and critical manner, it constantly adds to, renews and rejuvenates it. Creativity is joined in all musical ages and forms, from insight to performance, from improvisation to composition, from experiment to creation.
The KCB is a welcoming artistic house that opens its musical doors and windows to society and its diversity. It constantly enters into dialogue and interaction with the cultural and artistic field, both nationally and internationally, and in doing so, shuns neither challenges nor diversity. After the challenges of the twentieth century, it takes on those of the twenty-first.
