Wim Eggermont was born an raised in Zellik-Asse (near Brussels). I started to play drums at the age of 13 an learned it his my own. He joined a local band and learned to read and play in an ensemble. At the age of 17 he went to the music academie for two years where I came in contact with jazz for the first time.

Wim Eggermont was inspired by the music and decided to go to the Lemmensinstitute where I studied with Dré Pallemaerts for 5 years. During this period, he also took classes from Stéphane Galland, Hans Van Oosterhout, Frank Vaganée, Peter Hertmans, Bart Van Caenegem, Ron Van Rossum, Pierre Van Dormael, Philippe Aerts,... and took masterclasses from Billy Hart, Bill Carrothers, Peter Erskine, Bruno Castelluci, Nelson Veras,... He graduated in 2006.

Besides his own quartet, he is playing with several bands like Wayne Shorter Tribute, Koen Geudens Trio, Sonic Orchestra, Jan Eggermont Quartet, The Real Music Big Band, Zonko,... with musicians like : Ewout Pierreux, Pascal Mohy, Axel Gilain, Steven Delannoy, Sal La Rocca, Tim De Jonghe, Wietse Meys, Martijn Van Buel, Melanie De Biasio, Pascal Paulus, Garif Telzhanov, Bart De Nolf, Piet Verbist, Bruno Vansina, Frederik Leroux, Jean-Paul Estievenart, Janos Bruneel, Koen Geudens, Yannick Peeters, Bart Van Caenegem, François Willemaers, Bernard Guyot, etc...
