Pierre-Antoine Savoyat

From a music-lover family, Pierre-Antoine Savoyat blows his first notes on cornet at the Conservatoire de Villefranche-sur-Saône (France). Curious and passionate, he tries and digs a lot of different music styles (free improvisation, jazz, piano, trending music,...) during his teenage years. He composes his first bars at only eight years old, as a self-taught musician. After studying at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Chalon sur Saône, where he obtains a triple musical diploma in Jazz (Olivier Py, Fred Nardin...) Classical Trumpet (Eric Planté) and Orchestral Conducting. Pierre-Antoine improves himself in the jazz department of the Koninklijke Converatorium Brussel (Thomas Mayade, Jean-Paul Estievenart, Diederik Wissels, Stéphane Galland, Jeroen Van Herzeel...), where he got his Bachelor Degree with distinction and a Master Degree with Great Distinction (during his master he made an exchange-semester at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne, Switzerland, with Matthieu Michel and Emil Spanyi).

His large influences (Ambrose Akinmusire, Tom Harrell, Léonard Bernstein, Igor Stravinsky...) make Pierre-Antoine an astonishing musician, which is illustrated in various European scenes. Outside of his quartet, we can listen to him as a co-leader (« Bruteleiir Collectiif »), as a composer/arranger for« Q-Some Big Band » or « La Sido », and he is also an appreciated sideman, and join recently the new project of Stéphane Galland "the Rhythm Hunters". He is a member of the Young French National Jazz Orchestra from 2020 to 2022 (conducted by Frank Tortiller and Denis Baudault). And we can listen to him with the electro group Boogie Belgique or with the singer and guitarist Wil Key (« Globetrotter Side B »). He also makes an appearance on the 30th Anniversary Aka Moon's album "Quality of Joy", and plays also with big names of the European scene like Django Bates, Gerry Hemingway or Alexandra Grimal...

Pierre-Antoine is also an active composer on the classical contemporary scene, his pieces are played regularly in Europe. He is a finalist of the European Composer Slam Competition 2022 (hosted by Orchester Im Treppenhaus) in Hanover.
