Michel Morvan was a French musician who lived and was active in Belgium, too. He started with the drums in 1978 as a self-taught musician, after having played the piano from the age of three. However, it soon became obvious that his passion for the drums would lead him to turn professional.
He started listening to rock, then around the age of 18, he discovered funk, jazz, fusion...
He attended the Agostini drum school with Dominique Hamet in his early twenties, and later studied with Dom Famularo, then Jack DeJohnette.

Michel has played with lots of musicians in all kinds of genres, all over Europe, a.o. Yves Gourmeur's Mirages and the famous Belgian band Urban Trad (world music).

Besides pop and world music, Jazz and fusion music were among the multiple activities of this excellent musician, unanimously praised for his creativity and the quality of his playing. He played a.o. with Yves Gourmeur (trio cd), Cédric Waterschoot, and many others. He wrote the jazz composition "Hale bop".

He died from a heart attack at the age of 44.
