yann Lecollaire

Born in 1978 in France, Yann Lecollaire is a clarinetist, saxophonist and composer.

he obtained his prizes in clarinet (Frédéric Céllier) and Jazz (André jaume) at the Avignon conservatory, then followed masterclasses with Guillaume Orti, Magic Malik, Tcha Limberger, Anette Van De Gore…

He has played and recorded records with groups such as Fonetic, le sens de la marche by Marc ducret, Mu, Echo collective, Quadrilatère, Ananke, Black light orchestra, Mangalam, Matters (soundpainting collective),…

Living in Brussels since 2008, he has taken part in various shows, such as: Vertigo (Le Senghor) and 88 constellations (balsamine) by Thomas Turine, Messe noire, music directed by Fabien Dariel at the Vrac, Petite narration, a play by the author Wojtek Ziemilski, at the Bellone…

He composed the music and performed in Balansé, a dance piece by the Martinican dancer Agnès Dru (toured in France, Belgium, Mongolia, Romania, Guyana, Luxembourg).

He has composed various film scores, such as: La bataille de l’eau noire (2015) and Stan & Ulysses (2018) directed by Benjamin Hennot, for the silent film The Phantom of the Opera by Ruppert Jullian (Label Thödol 2013), La chandelle par les 2 bouts, on a cycle of short films at the Court bouillon festival (Nîmes).

He now plays with the groups Mikmäâk, Kami octet, Gong extension, Tout finira bien, ...

He has just released an album with singer sarah klenes, Songs of innocence and experience, a cycle of songs based on the poetry of William Blake (Label Thödol).
