The saxophonist John Ruocco passed away

We have learned of the death of American saxophonist John Ruocco on Wednesday 21 May 2025.

John Ruocco was very close to the Belgian jazz scene and played with Charles Loos, Bert Joris, Peter Hertmans, Richard Rousselet, Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, Frank Vaganne and the Philippe Aerts Trio, among others. He has also taught at the Den Haag Conservatory since the late 1980s, and at the Koninklijke Conservatorium van Brussel.
