This new project, which performs the music of saxophonist Daniel Stokart, features Martin Salemi on piano, Manolo Cabras on bass and Joao Lobo on drums. Daniel Stokart mainly plays the soprano saxophone.
The sound created by the saxophonist is inspired by modern European jazz (ECM), with modal, blues and world music influences that give pride of place to improvisation and lyrical themes.
It is music full of nuance, at times highly intricate, at others very stripped-back – a skilful blend of composition and unbridled improvisation...
