Shakespeare Revisited - Caroll Vanwelden

On Saturday 28 November 2026, Caroll Vanwelden will bring her new project Shakespeare Revisited to Kultuurschuur in Wetteren.

In Shakespeare Revisited, Caroll gives new musical life to William Shakespeare’s timeless sonnets. Love, desire, doubt, beauty and the passing of time are transformed into contemporary songs that blend jazz, art pop, chamber music colours and subtle electronics.

Caroll Vanwelden on vocals and piano is joined by Dominique Vantomme on keyboards and electronics and Jean-François Assy on cello and electronics. Together, this distinctive trio creates an intimate and cinematic sound world in which Shakespeare’s words feel remarkably close, human and relevant.

Expect an evening filled with vulnerability, rhythm, poetry and dramatic intensity in the warm and atmospheric setting of Kultuurschuur.
