A brand-new quartet led by double bassist Sal La Rocca. Driven by a desire and conviction to forge strong bonds between different generations of musicians, Sal has chosen very young talents based in Belgium. For this occasion, he has created a new repertoire of original compositions — a fine example of how a mix of generations can lead to brilliant results.

Sal La Rocca hails from Seraing, Belgium, near Liège. He began his career as a rock guitarist but switched to the double bass after hearing a number of jazz greats perform. He taught himself to play at the age of 23 and has since become one of Belgium’s most sought-after double bassists.

Umberto Odone, born in 1993 in Treviglio, Italy, started playing the drums at the age of six. At the age of eighteen, he became the first Italian drummer to graduate with a perfect score of 30/30 cum laude from the Scuderie Capitani Drum Academy. This marked the start of his professional music career and enabled him to teach drumming, both at music schools and privately

Elly Brouckmans (1998, Belgium) is a jazz saxophonist from Brussels, where she is currently studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels. Thanks to her father, who was active in the amateur brass band and big band scene, she had the opportunity to perform with large ensembles from a young age and attended countless jazz concerts, which led her to develop a passion for the genre at an early age.

Edoardo Cimino is a 23-year-old Italian guitarist living in Brussels. He is very active on the European music scene and collaborates with various groups in Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands.
