Monsieur Saxo : un profil de génie

Monsieur Saxo : un profil de génie

Show for young audiences, ages 6 and up.

For one hour, the brilliant inventor Adolphe Sax returns to Belgium and becomes “Monsieur Saxo”! A colorful character, he captivates his audience with the classical, jazz, amusing, and curious melodies of his repertoire. Accompanied by his pianist sidekick ‘Monsieur Berlioz’, he presents the saxophone, an instrument that is as expressive as can be.

This show creates a comical 19th-century atmosphere and navigates between storytelling, comedy, and music! Through dialogue and musical choices, it tackles a variety of themes: inventors, the 19th century, musical styles, jazz and its symbolism, and more. Venturing off the beaten track, this duo is an ode to the saxophone, from Ravel's “Boléro” to the music of Sydney Bechet. It revisits the latter's greatest hits and explores the life of an innovator with a strong character but who was also so likeable... “Monsieur Saxo”!
