Jazz pianist Milan Verbist presents his debut album “Time Change” in an intimate solo piano setting.

Milan Verbist (born 1999) is a young jazz pianist from Antwerp, Belgium. He studied at De! Kunsthumaniora and the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp, where he graduated with highest honors in 2022. His playing is enriched by the influences of many musicians he listens to and admires, including pianists McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, Bobo Stenson, Wynton Kelly, and others. In 2023, Milan was selected to be part of “De Twintigers” (The Twenties), a selection of ten promising young musicians made by Radio Klara. Milan has played with leading musicians such as Jakob Bro (DK), Chris Potter (USA), Lionel Loueke (BJ), John Ruocco (USA), John Bishop (USA), Bert Joris (BE), and Kurt Van Herck (BE).

Milan played an extensive series of concerts with his trio, which gave rise to the idea of recording an album. The recordings took place in March 2025, and the album will be released on September 19, 2025, on the American label Origin Records. The repertoire ranges from Milan's own atmospheric but also swinging compositions to works by Gary Peacock, J.S. Bach, and Ornette Coleman.

During this concert, Milan will perform arrangements for solo piano from the trio's repertoire, supplemented with other compositions of his own and his favorite jazz standards.
