Simon Comté (2005) is a young jazz saxophonist and composer, born in Brussels and currently living in New York, where he studies at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music. His exceptional talent for the saxophone, his great virtuosity, his early musical maturity and his unique voice on the instrument were quickly recognised by his colleagues, making him one of the most talented and promising saxophonists of his generation today.
The quartet's repertoire consists mainly of compositions by Simon Comté. His music gives pride of place to dialogue and synergy between the musicians. His style is influenced by his mentors, such as Coltrane, Monk, Brad Mehldau and Kenny Wheeler.
Always searching for the most sincere energy and the best way to tell a story through notes, Simon Comté already stands out and is one of the most brilliant rising stars of the new Belgian jazz scene.
