This new project, featuring compositions by saxophonist Daniel Stokart, is made up of Martin Salemi on piano, Manolo Cabras on bass and Joao Lobo on drums. Daniel Stokart plays mainly soprano saxophone, but also tenor saxophone and world music instruments (Hulusi, Duclar...).
The saxophonist's universe is inspired by modern European jazz (ECM), classical music, free-jazz, traditional jazz, repetitive music...
With modal, blues and world music influences, this project gives pride of place to improvisations and lyrical themes, playing on contrasts between ethereal atmospheres and sometimes unbridled improvisations.
It's a music full of nuances, at times very detailed, at other times very stripped down, a skilful blend of writing and improvisation...
