ASTORIA presents ASTOR PIAZZOLA «POESIA»

Astoria has the particularity of interpreting the work of Astor Piazzolla adapted and transcribed by accordionist Christophe Delporte.

The ensemble succeeds in imposing its identity thanks to the energy, rigour and emotion that emanate from their interpretations.

In the wake of Astor Piazzolla, Astoria is at a crossroads. A constant concern for musical quality and instrumental mastery brings his approach closer to the classical universe, from which his musicians come; but while bringing to the fore the writing quality of the Argentinian master, Astoria takes care to preserve the rhythmic and melodic enchantment of the originals.

Since its creation in 2004, Astoria participates in various television programs (Vivement Dimanche (France 2) presented by Michel Drucker), radio (Live du «Monde est un village» on La Première RTBF), records eight albums and a dvd. Astoria is currently certified by Antarctica records.

He is also a guest at major festivals and performs on national and international stages (Brussels Summer Festival, Castelfidardo Festival (it), Lille Festival (fr), Cyclades Festival (Greece)...

The standards of «tango nuevo» run through a wide range of feelings, ranging from tender mischief to sweet nostalgia and overflowing joy. The Astoria set will take you from the suburbs of Buenos Aires to the warm lands buried under tropical flora.
