The frontman of Flying Horseman, Dans Dans and Strand wanted to return to jazz with his new band Ottla. But anyone listening to Vogel (2024, Unday Records) will mostly hear a rich mix of jazz, rock, electro, noise, psychedelia, bleus and punk. Being one of the most inventive guitarists of his generation, Dockx wrote surprising and varied compositions for Ottla's latest album. Coloured by lyrical guitar parts, improvisations with clarinet and a rhythm section that plays with cool and dark dynamics, Ottla sounds as free as a bird. Live, this quartet will undoubtedly transform the songs further with surprising twists and inventive improvisations.
