Espen Eriksen Trio and Andy Sheppard first teamed up for two concerts in London in 2016. It was clear from the first note that this was a perfect match. After 15 years, six albums and regular touring on four continents, Espen Eriksen Trio is firmly established on the international jazz scene. The trio’s music relies on highly melodic and lyrical instrumentals and a “less is more” approach. Working together with the likes of George Russell, Gil Evans and Carla Bley, Andy Sheppard is truly one of Europe’s leading saxophonists. Together, they create top of the line melodic jazz that has motivated critics to draw comparisons with the legendary ‘Belonging’ quartet led by Keith Jarrett and Jan Garbarek.
