Originally from Waregem, the young pianist Alex Koo carries the torch of Belgian jazz high. Trained in Kortrijk, then in Amsterdam, Copenhagen and New York, Alex Koo is the winner of several national and international competitions. At barely 30, he hit hard with two albums recorded alongside American big names (Ralph Alessi, Mark Turner, Attila Gyárfás). His work is hailed by DownBeat Jazz Magazine, among others, an international benchmark for jazz. Although he is a formidable technician, the pianist stands out above all for his ideas, his adventurous compositions and his hypnotic improvisations. It goes without saying that his Belgian trio, with Dré Pallemaerts and Lennart Heyndels, embodies this dynamic well. A captivating musical adventure and a fabulous trio!
