Barbara Wiernik "Soul of Butterflies"

Traveling in all sincerity and simplicity through the notes and words written by the singer and the instrumental arrangements of Fabian Fiorini, sailing between calm atmospheres and percussive rhythms, "Soul of butterflies" is a very personal album. The subtle and tender texts, written in French as well as in English, present us in a sometimes playful, sometimes melancholic way, the pleasure to exist, to love and to sing. The meeting between the musicians of this group was simple and natural... The connivance between Fabian Fiorini and Barbara Wiernik was enriched during the summer of 2007 during the setting up of the pianist's project "Le voyage de Saint-Matthieu" (creation at the Gaume Jazz Festival), for which they spent a lot of time together. The common desire to work on Barbara's repertoire quickly became a reality. Other musicians, whom she had met during frequent collaborations and during jazz workshops at the Libramont Summer Academy, where they are all teachers, soon joined the project. A real synergy took place, and this group obviously had to be formed.
