In 2006, The Dixie Ramblers applied to the Megeve Jazz Contest. Unfortunately, some members of the band were not available and some friends-musicians were found to join the band. This band was so successful that they won the first prize at the Megeve Jazz Contest !

They decided to go on under the name The Swingmasters, and playing more in the swing style from the fifities.

Miel Leybaert (Drums) and Peter Verhas (clarinet, saxes) are driving forces behind the famous Jeggpap Jazzband, while Hinderik Leeuwe played amongst others with the DeepCreeck Jazzuits and is currently playing in several German bands.

Jean-Pierre Lienard (guitar) and Stefan Willems (double-bass) are original members of the The Dixie Ramblers.

All musicians do have a 20 years + experience in playing Jazz !

This band will also work with projects : a first project will be a Billie Holiday Songbook.
