Donkey Fever
refers to the fever sweeping through the Land of La-La. Pinocchio is trapped; everyone is sprouting donkey ears, only to be conscripted into a slave state in the next stage. The composition is a musical Ouroboros and can start afresh and continue indefinitely: the snake bites its own tail.
No Side Left
serves as a response to Frederic Rzewski’s “Who’s Side Are You On”; there is no sensible side to choose. We’ve all been cornered – corner time for everyone.
Washaway
After millions of years of patient mutation and selection, nature has succeeded in developing an intelligent being with the intention of destroying itself and starting afresh from scratch.
The songs ‘Kyrie Asini’ and ‘Hez! Sire Asnez Hez!’ appear in a medieval Latin-French song known as ‘Orientis partibus’ or the ‘Song of the Ass’. It dates from the 12th or 13th century and was sung during the Feast of the Donkey (Fête de l’âne) or the Feast of Fools in France.
