The idea behind this project is to take iconic (and retro!) video game themes and reinterpret them through a jazz lens — sometimes even veering into free jazz — inspired by Ornette Coleman's "harmolodic" approach.
Fascinated by the ingenuity of these catchy electronic melodies that linger in the mind without ever wearing out, Casimir leads his ReTRio on an unconventional journey through acoustic, ever-evolving live jazz.
His modern and imaginative reinterpretations of classic video game music blend seamlessly with his distinctive improvisational voice, resulting in a singular, versatile jazz language that’s both playful and profound.
