Jelle Van Giel is a drummer and composer with an ear for strong melodies and a heart for cinematic atmospheres. His new project, Close Distance Band, sounds like a balanced blend of energy, emotion, and imagination.
The music moves between improvisation, indie rock, and soundscapes, with the dialogue between piano and guitar at its beating heart. Think of a colorful soundtrack for a film yet to be made — at times intense and energetic, then quiet and dreamlike.
Following a well-received EP in 2024, the first full album All I Hear will be released on September 12, 2025, in collaboration with W.E.R.F. Records.
