Décroissant’ is the name of the new album by Greg Houben’s trio. For this new opus, Greg has chosen an intimate lineup: a guitar, a double bass, and himself on trumpet and vocals. The three set off in search of a repertoire drawn from popular songs, in an act of reuse, preservation, and authenticity. Greg places us in a shared space—that of our collective unconscious. He draws on this common ground to reveal his singularity, from the depths of his soul, where the heart beats…

Greg: “I’m embarking on this new musical project with a desire for degrowth, for essentials, for simplicity. No new equipment! Music where the adage ‘less is more’ is present at every turn: fewer notes, but above all, less control… more letting go.”

As is often the case with Greg, Décroissant is also about joy, humour, and immediate pleasure, with songs like Dalida’s Il venait d’avoir 18 ans, Paul Simon’s Still Crazy After All These Years, or Charles Trenet’s Je chante.
