In "Le Grand Sud," Thibault Dille, Pierre Gillet, and Swami Junior create a bridge between European and Latin musical traditions. The project highlights the harmonious interaction between the accordion and two 7-string guitars, featuring the renowned French accordionist Lionel Suarez on two tracks.

The repertoire consists of personal compositions that open up to spontaneous improvisations, crafted by the trio, navigating through various landscapes without being confined to any particular style or label. "Le Grand Sud" is a musical project that brings together the exceptional talents of Brazilian guitarist Swami Jr, Belgian accordionist Thibault Dille, and Belgian guitarist Pierre Gillet. This collaboration between European and Latin musical traditions shines a spotlight on the captivating harmony of two 7-string guitars and an accordion. "Le Grand Sud" is the result of three musicians from diverse backgrounds coming together, despite living on different continents, having performed multiple times in both Brazil and Europe. There is no single lead instrument here; rather, the three harmonic instruments meet, converse, and respond to one another. The album invites listeners on a fascinating journey through the varied landscapes of instrumental music, celebrating the subtle and natural fusion of multiple influences. Throughout, listeners will hear Brazilian, musette, jazz, gypsy, and Argentinean accents.

Swami Jr, a renowned Brazilian guitarist with over 40 years of international touring experience alongside legends such as Buena Vista Social Club, Omara Portuondo, and Chico César, joins forces with virtuoso Belgian accordionist Thibault Dille, winner of the prestigious Toots Thielemans Jazz Award, and versatile guitarist Pierre Gillet, who masterfully blends Latin jazz, swing, choro, and acoustic music. The album presents a refined mix of original compositions by the group members and spontaneous improvisations shaped by this talented trio. French accordionist Lionel Suarez joins the trio on two tracks, bringing fresh energy with an unprecedented orchestration: two accordions and two guitars
