Rahona -"clouds" in Malagasy- takes its origin in the meeting between two guitarists as different as complementary, Joël Rabesolo (Madagascar) and Julien Marga (France).

The first one, a figure of the Malagasy guitar, has performed on various stages all over the world with Toko Telo or with Linley Marthe's Island Jazz, while the second has been noticed in Europe for several years with his own quartet.

The immediate understanding between the two guitarists and their desire to create a project with an unusual instrumentation -a quartet with two guitars- has led to a unique sound identity, which is the cornerstone of Rahona.

The compositions chosen for this debut album reveal the original side of each musician : from African music to contemporary jazz including film music, Rahona has produced a poetic album, connecting the Malagasy culture with Europe, and enlightened by the melodic phrases of the guest saxophonist, Manuel Hermia.
