Whispering Trees is the latest project led by Brussels-based Dutch drummer Daniel Jonkers, who has been shaping his musical voice in the local and international music scene since moving to the city in 2015.
Joined by Yu-Ting Li (VIVA) on piano/effects and Vitja Pauwels (Early Life Forms) on guitar/effects, the trio brings an eclectic and sometimes dreamy sound which can be both minimalistic and playful.
By leaving out a bass instrument, the trio explores unconventional interactions between guitar, piano, and drums.
Their set features Daniel’s riff-driven songs which have plenty of room for improvisation to let everyone’s intuition and spontaneous musical voice to be heard.
'Whispering Trees’ debut EP will be released on the Dutch label Télès Music in February 2025.
The psychical CD release will be on 28th of May 2025
