Mingus Minga Mingum

Mingus Minga Mingum is a collective of musicians dedicated exclusively to the music of composer and double bassist Charles Mingus. The aim is to keep this breathtaking repertoire—which spans swing, bebop, blues, gospel, free jazz and classical music—alive, whilst adding their own personal touch. To try and capture the genuine spirit of this music, the musicians explore a variety of approaches together: multiple-choice arrangements, learning by ear, interactions with text, collective improvisations, and so on.
