Lamar

Lamar is a Ghent-based free improvisation trio consisting of Mathias Van de Wiele (el./acoustic guitar, horn), Artan Buleshkaj (electric guitar) and Laurens Van Bouwelen (drums, electronics).

Their music is as eclectic as their backgrounds, and can best be described as a mesh of contrasts ; abstract explorations versus clear melodicism, sparse soundscapes versus dense interplay, effect-laden improvisation versus acoustic,... : these are all juxtapositions that can be heard in their approach, that besides its diversity delivers clear intent and congruity between the different compositions.
