In 2007, Christian McBride presented the birth of a new quintet, called Inside Straight, with a live set at the legendary Village Vanguard. Critics and fans alike praised this acoustic powerhouse. McBride subsequently released two albums with Inside Straight on Mack Avenue records, Kind of Brown (2009) and People Music (2013), dedicated to McBride's vision of straight-ahead, hard-swinging jazz. After a hiatus of several years, Christian McBride brings Inside Straight to the Gent Jazz stage with a great new line-up and new groovy tunes for his eager fans.
