Concerts in support of SOS MEDITERRANEE

This Saturday 11 May, a host of committed musicians will be performing to raise funds in support of the European association SOS MEDITERRANEE for the rescue of people in the Mediterranean Sea. At the initiative of Bo van de Werf, a Belgian musician, the Marni is embarking on an operation that is both cultural and humanitarian, working for a cause that is close to the heart of director Joëlle Keppenne: "I want the Marni to be a tool for raising awareness and bringing citizens together, beyond the mission of presenting shows. Working for a fairer society, at our own level, seems essential to me. The magnificent team of artists who have come together will be performing free of charge, and we will be taking care of the logistics of the day. This is the first time we've done this in Brussels, and I plan to do it again next year. Our common goal is to make the association known to a wide audience, generate direct donations and build up a fund thanks to the 500 concert tickets available".

SOS MEDITERRANEE is 91% funded by private donations, which enable its humanitarian vessel, the Ocean Viking, to save lives at sea.

Two concert sessions are on sale for €20 each (€15 for under-26s), one at 3pm and the second at 7pm.

A stand will be open non-stop from 15:00 to midnight and a round table will be held in the bar from 17:30 to 18:30 with Sophie Beau, co-founder and CEO of SOS MEDITERRANEE, Olivier Vandecasteele, humanitarian worker and Adrian Carutyveels.
