A unique piece of sports history and a hidden gem in Bruges' city centre.
It was built by architect Louis Delacenserie, who also designed Gruuthuse in Bruges and the Central Station of Antwerp. The 'Rijksnormaalschool' from 1883 is considered his masterpiece. Especially the gymnastics hall, which on the outside resembles a chapel, while on the inside the authentic wooden constructions, including the dressing rooms upstairs, radiate the authentic historic atmosphere.
It is the oldest gymnasium in Flanders.
