Théâtre de Liège, Centre Scénique de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

In addition to this title, the institution is also known as the European Centre for Theatre and Choreographic Creation, in view of its missions of production and dissemination with local, regional and international influence in the field of theatre and contemporary dance.

Since the arrival of Serge Rangoni at its head in 2004, the institution has developed considerably, presenting some forty shows each season, including ten or so new productions.

The rich and varied programme includes performances by major Belgian and foreign directors and choreographers, internationally renowned actors (Isabelle Huppert, Mélanie Laurent, Emmanuelle Béart, Toni Servillo, Denis Podalydès, etc.) as well as emerging artists, witnesses to the culture of today and ambassadors of tomorrow.

In parallel to the "seasonal" programming, the Théâtre de Liège makes the City of Liège vibrate every other year to the rhythm of the Émulation festival, dedicated to young French-speaking Belgian companies which, with freshness and (im)relevance, take over various venues in the city.

Added to this panel of discoveries is the international biennial "Pays de Danses", a journey towards all forms of international contemporary choreographic art (Batsheva Dance Company, Eun-Me Ahn Dance Company, Constanza Macras, Virgilio Sieni, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker...).

The seasons are also punctuated by two other important events: the IMPACT Festival dedicated to the relationship between the performing arts and new technologies with a view to cooperation between the cultural, research, training and business sectors (the Théâtre de Liège also has a Club of partner companies (17) which support the artistic and educational development of the institution); the Corps de Textes Festival...
