Initially the organiser of a major blues festival in Houthem in the 1990s, the non-profit organisation ‘Open Music’ turned its attention in 2012 to jazz, blues and ‘other good music’, in short, to ‘open music’ jazz!

The non-profit organisation organises 18 concerts a year and, from 1 January 2019, will be based on the Grand'place in Comines in a former nightclub converted into a jazz club thanks to a cooperative society set up by the club's members, who are investing nearly €500,000 in their ‘jazz house’ with CDs, books, decor, sound, lighting, studio/artists' accommodation, stage, grand piano, restaurant/bar area, etc., just a stone's throw from Flanders and the major European metropolis of Lille-Courtrai-Tournai.

The programme makes a point of promoting artists from Flanders and Wallonia-Brussels in particular, although it also invites musicians from all over Europe, Africa and the Americas...
