Jef Coolen

Jef Coolen played in various contexts, from pop to jazz, often as a lead trumpet player, and with numerous big bands. He appears on numerous albums in a wide variety of styles.

He played a.o. with the BRT Jazzorkest" and recorded "Belgian Swing Jazz 1935-1945", released in 1983 (BRT LP 847003), and the René Beckers Big Band "On the move". Other collaborations include BRT Big Band, Max Greger Orkest, tours with Shirley Bassey, Julio Iglesias, Natalie Cole, Andy Williams etc...

Active in the studios, and in several bands, of all styles, a.o. the Very Big Band.

Jef Coolen died at the age of 71.
