The winner of the 3rd edition of Brussels International Young Jazz Singers Competition 2007, Jihye Lee started to learn jazz at the Seoul Jazz Academy in South Korea where she also studied a basis in classical as well as traditional singing technique.

She obtained a bachelor degree in The Hague, where she studied mainstream jazz and bebop. She started to work on her own compositions influenced by traditional jazz, funk, Korean traditional music, free improvising music and modern art. During her study she took workshops of Michael Brecker, Barry Harris, Mark Turner, John Ruocco en Deborah Brown, Korean traditional music workshops in The Hague (2002-2006).

In June 2008 she obtained her Master Degree at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels where she studied with David Linx, Diederik Wissels and Kris Defoort.

She has performed actively at: Klara Festival (2009), Brussels Jazz Marathon (2009), Sporza Musica Festival (2009), The music village (2009), Jazz at Home Mechelen(2009), Boombal Festival (2009), Charlier museum(2009), Jazzenede in Assenede (2008), Jazzzolder Mechelen with Tuesday night orchestra (2008), MIDIS Jazz at MIM Brussels (2010), Special concert "Jihye Lee" at the international jazz singer's competition "Voicingers" in Poland (2010), CC De Spil Roeselare (2009), De schaduwe Ardooie (2008), Jazz Olive Brussels (2007), Jazz park (Seoul, 2011), Chunnyundongando (Seoul, 2011), Maison de la Creation(2011, 2012) and so on.

She had various projects like: Jihye Lee Quintet, Jazz duo Jihye Lee & Nicola Andrioli, Jihye Lee Quartet, Dahlia Mees project and Centbisous with Sophie Cavez (as a guest singer).
