Call for applications: Motives for jazz 2026

On Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October 2026, the third edition of the Motives Festival will take place at the Velinx in Tongeren.

This year, the festival is partnering with Belgium Booms x JazzLab, a programme aimed at international programmers.

Eight Belgian bands will be selected to participate. Four of them will be selected as part of Belgium Booms x JazzLab by an external international jury. The other four places will be allocated by the Motives Festival.

What are the conditions for participation?

• Some of the musicians must come from or reside in Limburg.
• The musicians involved in the submitted project must be available on October 2 and 3, 2026.
• The musicians must be willing to play a 40-minute concert for a fixed fee of €250 per musician. Only one larger ensemble/big band can be included in the total selection of four projects.

Submit your application by  March 31, 2026 , at the latest.
