20 years of Music Fund and a new ambassador

Music Fund is celebrating its 20th anniversary and announcing a new ambassador: saxophonist Toine Thys.

Music Fund's mission is to give young people living in conflict zones and/or disadvantaged areas the opportunity to play music in good conditions. To do this, they collect musical instruments in Europe, check and repair them, and then send them to their partners. They also train musical instrument repairers.

To mark its 20th anniversary, Music Fund is organising its first event on Saturday 13 December in Verviers. Instrument collection, participatory workshops and an open stage will punctuate the afternoon and early evening. The day will end with a concert by Toine Thys accompanied by Renette Désir on vocals, Falk Schrauwen and Marcos Della Rocha on percussion and Skander Jenhani on guitar.
