Take the stage with Free the Folk!

Free the Folk is back! This adventurous music project brings together amateur musicians who want to experiment with jazz, folk, and everything in between. All kinds of instruments meet here, surprising combinations are formed, and improvisation takes center stage.

In the run-up to a concert at the Luisterplein during the Gentse Feesten, Free the Folk is once again looking for enthusiastic musicians. Together with professional coaches Anthe Huybrechts and Shalan Alhamwy, you will work over seven rehearsals with about twenty other musicians toward a unique performance on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
