Open Call : Motives for Jazz

On December 7, 2025, the Motives Festival will take place at CC Muze in Heusden-Zolder. An annual festival with international appeal and full of Limburg accents in the programming. Besides an enthusiastic jazz audience, concert organizers and promoters are also invited in a professional setting.

Through this open call, Motives for Jazz, Jazz Maastricht and JazzLab are giving the opportunity to 4 bands/artists to present themselves with a paid showcase.

What are the conditions to participate?

• Solo musicians or band leaders must come from or reside in Limburg. In the case of bands, international musicians may also be involved, as long as the project has a clearly demonstrable link with the Limburg/Belgian jazz scene.
• The musicians involved in the submitted project must be available on December 7, 2025,. In case of selection, they must also be willing to play in the exact line-up stated in the application and to respect the concert schedule determined is made by the organization.
• The musicians must be willing to play a 30-minute concert for a fixed amount of €250 per musician. In the total selection of 4 projects, only one larger ensemble/big band can be included.
• The submitted project is an ongoing project with a long-term perspective, which can tour internationally with the line-up mentioned in the application.
• The submitted project has released at least one album/EP/digital release or has an album or digital release planned in the near future.
• By participating you give permission to the organization to create and use image and sound materials for further promotion.
