Le Gaume Jazz fête sa 40eme edition!
For its 40th edition, Gaume Jazz has pulled out all the stops:
- 4 new creations
- 3 new projects based on the ‘Jazz For Peace’ theme
- 120 artists from 8 different countries
- 13 solo piano concerts in Gaume Jazz OFF
The 40th edition was built around the theme of ‘Jazz for Peace’, because JAZZ is a totally open musical language built around the qualities of listening, dialogue, respect and freedom - a language geared towards PEACE.
This year, a special tribute will be paid to Jodie Devos.
Jodie Devos was given carte blanche this year, and her sudden and tragic death at the age of 35 has plunged us (along with the music world and her many friends and family) into an indescribable sadness. Jodie also loved all good music, especially jazz. She knew the Gaume Jazz Festival from having been an auditor there and a great friendshiṕ had developed between her and the festival. She had suggested́ for 2024 a project based around Judy Garland, whom she adored.' Jean-Pierre Bissot
The creation she had imagined with trumpeter David Enhco and the ‘Amazing Keystone Big Band’ will be performed, in her honour, with Neïma Naouri, one of her close friends on Saturday 10 August!
