Aleph Quintet - Jazz Tour Les Lundis d’Hortense

Akram Ben Romdhane – oud

Marvin Burlas – violin

Wajdi Riahi – piano

Théo Zipper – bass

Diogo Alexandre – drums

Following the success of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Shapes of Silence’, Aleph Quintet pushes the boundaries of their art with this new project, ‘Hiwar’ – an album that showcases their signature sound: a bold fusion of modern jazz and traditional North African music. In Arabic, ‘Hiwar’ means ‘dialogue’, a word that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this album: an exchange celebrating cultures, heritage and innovation. By laying bare thoughts, beliefs and emotions, ‘Hiwar’ is a space where identities are reflected and learn from one another. Each of the five Brussels-based musicians, now recognised and followed on the international music scene, brings their own unique world and experience, creating a powerful, deeply rooted and contemporary collective vision.
