Greg Foat - Brosella Festival

Pianist, composer and producer Greg Foat is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary British jazz. His music resists easy categorisation, moving effortlessly between jazz, electronic music and cinematic soundscapes, often with a warm nod to the sonic palette of the 1960s and 1970s. With the Fender Rhodes as a defining centrepiece, he crafts a dreamy, layered and hypnotic sound.

Performing as a trio alongside a new generation of leading musicians, with Moses Boyd on drums and Jihad Darwish on bass, his music gains an added sense of dynamism and freedom. The interplay between piano, bass and drums is both intense and organic, allowing space for subtle textures as well as driving grooves. The result is an immersive live experience where improvisation, atmosphere and imagination take centre stage.
