All You Can Jazz 5 : Luc Van Steerteghem band

The Luc Van Steertegem Quartet is a Belgian/Dutch jazz quartet, born from the collaboration of trumpeter Luc Van Steertegem, pianist Milan Verbist, and the rhythm section featuring Jens Meijer (drums) and Stefan Lievestro (double bass). The musicians met during Luc's monthly concerts at jazz café De Muze in Antwerp, where the quartet still performs regularly.

Luc and Milan have been playing together since 2016. Jens and Stefan form a close-knit Rotterdam rhythm section with a long history together in various bands. The quartet has performed at numerous venues, including Zaal Da Capo, Kunstencentrum Kaleidoscoop, De Muze, HADDOK, and Djingel Djangel. Their repertoire consists of jazz standards like "Bye Bye Blackbird" and "Mack the Knife," supplemented with influences from greats such as Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins, and Charlie Parker.
