Always on the lookout for the most sincere energy and the best way to tell a story through his notes, Simon Comté is already making a name for himself as one of the most dazzling rising stars on the new Belgian jazz scene.
Simon Comte is a 20-year-old Belgian tenor saxophonist who started playing at the age of 7 and was admitted to the Brussels Royal Conservatory at 14 ! A winner of the Leuven Jazz Contest and a finalist in the Dinant Jazz Contest, he was awarded the BAEF 2023 music grant and has already performed extensively internationally, notably in New York, where he lives and studies.
The Grammy-winning WDR Big-Band Cologne has invited him to perform with them as a soloist in February 2025.
With this new project, Simon plays his own music with some of his favourite musicians. Energy and dialogue are the key points of this quartet.
