Bill Frisell (USA) is nothing less than a jazz icon.
As one of America’s most influential guitarists, he has released around fifty albums under his own name and played on some two hundred others by artists including Lucinda Williams, John Zorn, Elvis Costello, Rickie Lee Jones, and Brian Eno.
Bill Frisell masterfully blends styles ranging from jazz, rock, blues, and folk to Americana, enriching them with atmospheric improvisations. He is praised for his distinctive, spellbinding playing, virtuosity, inventive arrangements, laid-back timing, and beautifully phrased melodies.
Together with double bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Rudy Royston, he forms a close-knit trio with a remarkably rich sound. The trio is agile, effortlessly shifts between styles, and is always ready to groove.
